According to the National Oceanic & Atmopheric Administration (NOAA) and Hail Recon, a hail storm hit this location at 2:20 PM on April 6th, 2019.
The storm came in from the east and dropped 1/2 inch hail for 11.3 minutes. This location has actually been hit with nine hail events ranging in size from 1/2 inch to 1 inch in the past ten years.
That’s almost one event per year. We have provided a Hail Impact Report which shows the dates, times, size, duration, etc., of each of these events.
This storm caused significant roof damage to the homes in your area. This is not the kind of catastrophic damage that causes noticeable problems right away. It is the kind of damage that shortens the life of your roof system.
It causes premature granule loss (asphalt roof systems), small dents and eventual roof leaks. Much to the delight of most insurance companies, these issues don’t normally show up until the window of opportunity to file an insurance claim has passed.
Time is running out to file a claim on this storm. Here are some actual pictures of damage on roof systems in your neighborhood.
